LITTLEBIGPLANET ARRIVES EARLY ON PS VITA

LittleBigPlanet arrives early on PS Vita

This is not something we're used to seeing: A game has hit retail shelves around the world early, and the publisher (and developers!) are actually happy about it. The game in question? LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, which started showing up in stores over the weekend.

Simply put, the game was finished early, went gold early, and then showed up in-store early. May I remind you that this is not how things usually work?
Due to the "excitement" from retail partners, Sony PR Manager Eric Levine explains on the PlayStation Blog that they've been given the go-ahead to put the game on shelves a few days before the originally planned release date. (Check with your local retailer to make sure - some stores may not have received stock yet.)
Don't throw a LittleBigParty just yet, though, there's a catch!
You’ll still be able to fully enjoy all the offline features of the game, but the servers will not go live until September 18th.
...there's further drama if you're after a digital copy of the game, rather than one on disk: Digital versions of the game won't be made available until next week - September 25th in the US. Pre-order bonuses will also be made available "soon".
While Sony apologises for "any confusion this may cause", there's still some good news at the heart of it all: LittleBigPlanet PS Vita is out right now, meaning you don't have to wait to jump into Sackboy's adventures on Sony's new handheld.
