Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed' on the Wii U will not support voice chat

No voice chat? That's fine.
Details about the upcoming "Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed " for the Wii U have been slow to come out. We know the game is making the launch window of theNintendo Wii U and will include the character Wreck It Ralph, but little else is known about the game.
Eurogamer  spoke today with the developer of "Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed", Sumo Digital, and found out that the game will not support voice chat on the Nintendo Wii U.
Voice chat on the Wii U is going to be cumbersome, as word recently came out that the only way to voice chat in games would be through the GamePad , and only certain games would be supporting voice chat.
The only way to chat it up on the Wii U  is through third party officially licensed headsets. While the GamePad has a built in Microphone, you can't use it to chat with other gamers. Also, if you want to use the Pro Controller and still talk, you have to have the GamePad sitting next to you the whole time.

When asked what games would support voice chat, just so gamers could have an idea of what to expect, Nintendo was quick to mention only a few games.
"Wii U will have in-game chat functionality for select games, including, but not limited to, "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 ', "Assassin's Creed 3" and "Mass Effect 3".This feature will be supported by licensed stereo headsets that plug directly into the headphone port of the Game Pad. Licensed headsets are available from Turtle Beach and TRITTON," reads a statement sent to Joystiq.
It's a shame that, even with Nintendo joining the current gen with HD graphics and finally catering to the hard core gaming crowd, they're still a few steps behind with voice chat functionality.
The Nintendo  Wii U will launch on Nov. 18, 2012.
