Assassin's Creed 3 Is Ubisoft's Most Pre-Ordered Game Ever

The pre-order numbers for Assassin's Creed 3 look very encouraging to Ubisoft. Today the company revealed that AC3 is the most pre-ordered Ubisoft title ever, with twice the amount of orders as Assassin's Creed Revelations.

Ubisoft didn't disclose the exact amount of pre-orders for AC3. It must be a very large number, though, considering that Revelations was the previous record holder for the company. AC3 passed Brotherhood's total way back in March.

AC3 brings the series to the American colonies during the Revolutionary War. Players will experience the era through the eyes of Connor, a brand-new character. He'll participate in famous battles from the war, assassinate targets on both sides of the conflict, and even command his own ship on the high seas.

There are a lot of plausible reasons why this game has racked up so many pre-orders. For starters, it's the first full-fledged sequel to the series in years. Unlike Revelations and Brotherhood, it introduces a brand new era for players to explore. The Revolutionary War setting itself has piqued the curiosity of many Americans (myself include). Flashy new features like ship battles and co-op aren't hurting matters.

The PS3 and 360 versions of AC3 will launch in North America on October 30th and in Europe on the 31st. The PC and Wii U editions will follow in

'Assassins Creed 3' interactive trailer, Steam release date November 23, 2012

The great trailers and information keep coming just ahead of the release of Ubisoft’s “Assassin’s Creed 3 ”. There have been no shortage of trailers for fans to enjoy this month  but the latest one released today may be the best one of all.
The trailer is interactive and lets players get a taste of the game as they decide Connor’s path on the way to the assassination of Major Pitcairn. At several key decision points along Connor’s journey to complete the mission, a choice on how to proceed is presented. Fans also get to decide how to dispatch a few red coats along the way.
It is a really entertaining taste of what is to come and Ubisoft did an excellent job of giving fans just a little bit of what is to expect without actually releasing a full demo. Check out theinteractive trailer  and complete your own pre-release assassination.
“Assassin’s Creed 3 ” is still not available for pre-order on Steam, but should be coming along soon enough. The PC release is not until November 30, 2012 nearly a month after the console players get to play the game. In the meantime, the “Assassin’s Creed Pack” is currently available on Steam, which includes all the previous games at a significant discount. The offer ends tomorrow at 4:00 PM pacific.

Assassin’s Creed 3 PlayStation 3 bundle for Hong Kong revealed with bonus Assassin’s Creed hoodie

If you’re a gamer in Hong Kong and you were planning on picking up Assassin’s Creed 3 on either the PlayStation 3 or the PlayStation Vita, it seems that Sony has announced several bonuses that looks to be exclusive to the Hong Kong market. Starting with the PlayStation 3 bundle, this will include the new PlayStation 3 with a 500GB HDD, a copy of the Assassin’s Creed 3 game in English, an exclusive multiplayer DLC and an Assassin’s Creed 3 jacket with a hood (pictured above), although in all honesty it looks more like poncho.
For those who prefer playing the game on the PS Vita, the Vita bundle will include a WiFi only version of the console, a copy of Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation, a special DLC and a limited edition Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation protection film. Now if you own Assassin’s Creed 3 for the PlayStation 3 but you decide to get Liberation for your PS Vita, you will also get to play as Connor in an exclusive mission set in New York, and gain access to the Tomahawk weapon, an ammo pouch upgrade and a French Agile multiplayer character. These two bundles will be released in Hong Kong come 31st of October and will be priced at HK$2,280 (~$294).

Gangnam Style riding into Just Dance 4, includes music video choreography

Just Dance 4 is bringing the Gangam Style

Ubisoft announced this morning that "Gangnam Style" will be available as downloadable content for Just Dance 4 this November. The song, which has become an international phenomenon, has nearly 500 million views on YouTube.

On that note, Psy is quoted as saying, "Gangnam Style and Just Dance 4, I can't wait to see all the YouTube videos." Spoiler: It's going to be a lot of people doing the horse dance.

One of the words that doesn't show up in Ubisoft's announcement is "exclusive." We've reached out to Harmonix to find out if it's also working on some Gangnam Style for Dance Central 3.

Update: We checked with Ubisoft to see if the DLC included the moves from the famous music video or simply had new choreography.

"The chorus of the song has the precise moves from Gangnam Style," a Ubisoft spokesperson informed Joystiq. "The verses highlight some of the video's moves but also include [Just Dance 4] moves."

Rayman Legends predecessor could have been on the Wii U

Rayman Legends predecessor could have been on the Wii U

Once upon a time, Rayman Origins was in the works for the Wii U, as Ubisoft expected an earlier launch date for the console. Sadly the team had no choice but to scrap development once they discovered that the system wouldn't be released in 2011.
Rayman creator Michel Ancel told Nintendo Power magazine that the team were working on the game for Wii U, but there was uncertainty about when the system would launch.
We did not know exactly when Nintendo would release the system, but we started making Origins for Wii U. [At that point], we thought Wii U would come out a lot earlier. We worked very closely with Nintendo [on Wii U] early on, giving them feedback on the various prototypes.
After discarding Rayman Origins for Wii U, the team went on to develop Rayman Legends exclusively for the system.
Scheduled for release next month, it was revealed earlier this week that the game will be delayed until next year.
